Hoje trataremos sobre os direitos das pessoas diagnosticadas com TEA.
O que significa TEA?
Raquel Lage: O TEA é um distúrbio caracterizado pela alteração das funções do neurodesenvolvimento do indivíduo, interferindo na capacidade de comunicação, linguagem, interação social e comportamento, conhecido comumente como Transtorno do Espectro Autista.
As pessoas diagnosticadas têm direitos específicos garantidos por lei?
Raquel Lage: Sim, temos duas leis que garantem os direitos das pessoas com TEA. São elas:
Lei Berenice Piana (12.764/12): Criou a Política Nacional de Proteção dos Direitos da Pessoa com Transtorno do Espectro Autista;
Lei Brasileira de Inclusão da Pessoa com Deficiência (Lei 13.146/15): Assegura os direitos das pessoas com deficiência em geral, incluindo as pessoas com TEA.
Poderia nos exemplificar alguns desses direitos?
1.Direito a um diagnóstico preciso e o acesso a tratamentos e terapias pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS);
2.Direito de estudar em escolas regulares, com adaptações e recursos necessários para garantir o aprendizado, inclusive com acesso a professores de apoio;
3.Direito a serviços de assistência social, como o Benefício de Prestação Continuada (BPC);
4.Carteira de Identificação da Pessoa com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (Ciptea) garante prioridade no atendimento em diversos serviços públicos e privados.
